You'll love the contemporary look and convenience of the Gourmet Guesthouse & Office. Our guesthouse sleeps up to 3 people and can be your home base for business or pleasure (or both!) It is cozy and private. There is a discount for booking a week or more, and an additional discount for a month. We often have guests who book from 1-3 months.
Entry into the home is through the front pergola and deck into the office area. Business class high speed wireless Internet (fiber) is available throughout the property. The office features a large desk and ergonomic leather chair and space for multiple monitors. With a dedicated work area, high speed internet, working from home can be comfortable and efficient. The adjacent dining table can also be used as a conference or work table. The office also has a large comfortable sofa that can serve as a private sleeping area when the privacy curtains are closed and function as a room divider.
The gourmet kitchen is visible from the office. It has double ovens (convection/microwave and large oven) and a 5 burner gas cooktop. Countertop appliances include an air fryer and insta-pot. There are two refrigerators---One under counter and a second refrigerator with an ice maker in the adjacent laundry room. This is a fully furnished gourmet kitchen with up-scale cooking equipment as well as beautiful china and crystal glassware ---giving you the opportunity to cook and serve elegant meals.
Off the kitchen is the TV/lounge area with a leather sofa and ottoman. It is a great area for a glass of wine and to listen to the nostalgic record collection or watch a movie on Netflix.
The bed and bath wing have an Asian Theme. The bedroom has great privacy and comfortable queen gel foam bed and luxurious bedding. A 36" TV is in the bedroom. There are room darkening curtains. The adjacent spa bathroom has a shower but no tub. The entire space is elegant and relaxing.
The laundry room is accessed from the kitchen. This space has a refrigerator with ice maker, a full-sized stackable washer and dryer, a laundry folding area and cleaning equipment and supplies. The laundry room has a door to access the back yard seating areas, the large grassy area, fire pit and barn. The backyard has herbs and flower gardens, shaded seating areas and outdoor lighting. With a few eIt is enjoyable year-round in Louisiana's temperate climate.
So it is an easy transition from the business office in the front of the house to a country setting in the back yard! The laundry room is shared with staff occasionally and has a storage room used by staff. The backyard is shared with two other guests. There is plenty of room for everyone to easily share space, and for pets and their people to play in what feels like a rural setting.
We are near Highway 90 in an area that has mixed residential, commercial and industrial use. Guests love our convenient location. We operate 2 adjacent guesthouses and have lived in this neighborhood for 15 years, so we can attest to the safety and convenience of our location.. We are less than 5 minutes to access Interstate 10 and Interstate 49. The downtown, grocery stores and restaurants are about 7 minutes away. We have some times when there is noise from traffic, but with doors and windows closed, guests say that our guesthouse is cozy and comfortable.
