The small district of Wernigerode has a pretty spa park with botanical features and is known for the so-called old pharmacy, the ancestral home of Schierker Feuerstein. Hiking trails and cross-country ski runs can be reached directly from the house. Whether bakery, supermarket, restaurant, savings bank or cafe - all important things are within walking distance. Wernigerode and Braunlage can be reached in a few minutes by car. The Brockencoaster (bobsleigh track) is located at the entrance to Schierke - fun for the whole family.
